Lend Me Your Ear - THIS YOU NEED to HEAR. It's happening all over the country - city council and citizens not seeing eye-to-eye on how local government should be handled. Here's a learning lesson for all Wilsonians...Be sure to take notes. And while you're at it you can't forget to remember... Greenlight, Gillette Complex, ElectriCities, Paul Berry Park, high utility bills, new ventures on the planning table now... Does Wilson really need a Whirligig Park... There's already a festival named for it, why is a dedicated park necessary.... We're Just asking ... SING WITH US ... money, money, money, mon-ney, MON-NEY...c'mon sing with us! YET, there is no money for citizens who are struggling to pay those high "ELECTRICITIES FORCED''utilities.Ummm... that's somethng to THINK ABOUT. Now watch this...

Ah, c'mon you might say. Are we gonna mix religion and politics. Well . . . you can call it what you want, but even Adam and Eve had their assignments while here on earth. Be it as it may. All citizens need to do their "duty" to God and their Country. Oh, by the way that does include the city where you reside. Hello D'uh... Do your civic duty to bring about the change you wanna see for this community. Read on . . . Does God expect Christians to vote?

Downtown Farmer's Market Day
Wednesday, July 21, 2010

Fresh produce and flowers from local vendors are displayed from 9am to 1 pm at the Wilson Downtown Farmer's Market. The Market is open every Wednesday until August 25, 2010. Vendors are set up at 207 Green St. in the same area as The Jarman House restaurant. In a recent visit, we strolled around the variety of vendors and came across two young ladies who were very pleasant, very smart and savvy. They're located at Rob's Fresh Produce and they had pretty much what you'd be looking for. Stop by and pay em' a visit. They've got the best buys for your buck! The RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE CITIZENS
BUSINESS AS USUAL . . . SO, how’s that working for you … Especially when it comes to social equality and economic justice concerning the affairs of East Wilson and the residents who reside therein? Those relatives and friends who make up the fiber of this community in this place where “WE” call home.

My thoughts about this day of celebration as a liberated country
Alonzo Braggs
July 4, 2010
We live in a very privileged country. Perhaps this is because we strive so much to be “all inclusive and non offensive”. However, if we are really honest about the matter, we exclude and offend so many that it is really ridiculous. This weekend, across our nation, untold thousands will light fire crackers and have cook outs, folks will travel and enjoy reunions. How many will actually realize the true meaning of this day. Ceremonially there will be some focuses. I wonder how many of them will be beyond the agenda of duty and detail.
