There has been much talk in the Wilson community concerning the mayoral race. Three African Americans seek to unseat the 20 year incumbent. Residents are asking how can that be when the vote will be split three different ways. Suggestions of the three candidates meeting together to form a unified base have been circling the community for weeks now.
Well, we're here to share that meeting did happen. At least between the two strongest in the race. We're currently working on a blog post to share with you what we can about what happened on that day.
This community and the people who call this place home mean more to me than the ego of a man. Regardless of the man. The work that we do, the work that we've done and the work that lies before us as a people is far greater than any "insidious alliance" guised for the good of the community.
