To Raise the Debt Ceiling or Not to Raise the Debt Ceiling.
That Was The Question.
That Was The Question.
So, on August 2, 2011 the question was answered, by a vote of 269 Yes to 161 No in the U.S. House of Representatives on Monday 1 August, and a concluding 74 Yes to 26 No votes in the U.S. Senate today August 2nd and an approval signature by the President, Barack Obama, the United States avoided what would have been one of the worse events to happen to this nation since its conception. that being, defaulting on America’s financial standing in the free world economy.
Immediately, after the vote was in by the House of Representatives the cable networks were asking who were the winners and who were the losers in this ridiculous, childish, and unprofessional self inflicted crisis. A crisis created in the Congress of the United States of America by the very people we elected to govern our country.
If you want to know their response tune your TV to MSNBC, CNN, FOX or HLN cable networks, but this post is so I can share with you my take on who the winners and losers are. I believe that President Obama is the number one winner, because he once again demonstrated his outstanding ability to lead and get children to play nice (big children, Congressman/woman and Senators).
The Tea Party, and other Republicans such as Ron Christie, former aid to President Bush 43, and Michael Steele, former RNC Chairman would have us believe that president Obama hid on the sidelines while others fought the debates.
They argued that the President never put a plan for deficit reduction on the table, at least not in writing. What they fail to acknowledge while misleading the American people something most every 5th grader knows, that is, the U.S. has three branches of government the legislature/congress who is responsible to make/write laws, the Executive/President who approves or disapproves Congresses’ work with a signature for approval or a veto for disapproval, and the Judicial/Supreme Court, who rules if necessary whether or not a law is constitutional.
The President did exactly what the Constitution of the U.S. requires of his office. He gave the Congress guidance, what he would or would not approve and asked them to go to work and do what they have been elected to Congress to do. So I say the President was the leader, professional, and grownup in this process and he deserves his “props.” Oh sorry, I meant credit for once again saving the day.
There are other winners, the American people; the middle class, the low income, the poor, and the unemployed. All of whom would have suffered greatly had this law not been accomplished. And once again the oil giants, large corporations, Wall Street, millionaires, and billionaires “made out like bandits.”
Another reason I say the American people were winners, that is because now you know which members of Congress are willing to let America fail, thereby causing mass-job-loses, above the 14 million out of work folks America now has devastating homelessness and poverty for regular Americans, while sheltering the oil giants, large corporations, Wall Street, millionaires and billionaires and all their wealth.
And by their own boasting the TEA Party are winners, according to John Boehner Speaker of the House of Representatives, he stated on national TV that they the TEA Party got 98% of their demands.
Well America, if you don’t agree with me, you don’t feel or think you were a winner in this mess, this man made crisis, perpetrated by the TEA Party freshmen to the U.S. House of Representatives in the 2010 midterm elections. You have the power to change it, 2012 is around the corner. We all need to be like the elephant that legend has it “never forgets.” And I’m not talking about the symbol of the party of the rich. However you need not wait until election-day 2012, you can join the battle right now, join your local branch of the party of your choice. The TEA Party nutcases must go and if nothing else let us not allow any more of them in our leadership body this election cycle.
Oh, by the way, the losers in this mess is, anyone who does not realize how close this country came to becoming a third world country. Because big money and less than 79 supposedly American citizens wanted it that way. Thank God they didn’t get their complete way this time around.

Very well written article and something everyone needs to read. The time has come to start planning the removal of the Tea Party from our government, local, state and federal. We do not want your style of governing. Time to go. Thanks for sharing this article.
