Glenwood Hills & Valleydale Estates

It was a great turn out Monday evening at the South District Police Station with Chief Thomas Hopkins informing the community the "reign of terror" at least for the moment has subsided. For the past two weeks, the two communities of Glenwood Hills and Valleydale Estates have been under siege with burglaries and break-ins of at least 10 homes that we've been made aware of by news circulating around the neighborhood.

Very similar to the situation that happened off Chase Rd. and Airport Rd. but without the fanfare of news coverage (no need to ask why you already know) neighbors and friends relied on one another to spread the word and keep a watchful eye out for one another.

There was no automated call from the City of Wilson Police Department informing and alerting these South District neighborhoods of the crimes and attacks that were taking place amongst them. The South District area is under the watch of Captain Rosheena Corpew. One Valleydale Estate resident inquired why had there not been more police presence in the area? Why did it take 10 homes to be broken into before we could get police to patrol our area.
