A Closer Look: The Civil War 150 Years
It really all depends on who you ask. And who you're talking to.
The War Between the States, the US Civil War, War of the Rebellion or the War for Southern Independence, regardless of what you call it this year marks the beginning of a four year (2011-2015)celebration of the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War. A time in history that divided a nation and aroused extraordinary passion in the people. From North of Delware to Deep Down South in Dixie, you were either for it or against. There was no middle ground.
In our series "A Closer Look: The Civil War", we'll be discussing topics of interest and local events from varying perspectives. It really does depend on who you're talking with to answer the question of Heritage, Homage, Hate or Humiliation.
