In commemoration of Martin Luther King Jr., The Art's Council of Wilson is hosting an exhibit of famed photographer and local resident Burk Uzzle featuring photographs not previously shared with the public that depicts the aftermath of King's assasination.
Best known for his photo taken at Woodstock of a young hippie couple standing under a quilt in the crowd embracing, Uzzle's images in this exhibition "Honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., portrays the emotions of a grieving people and the sentiments of a divided nation that captured the spirit of the country at that time.
The exhibit opens on January 6 and runs through February 6, 2010. The Schedule: Tuesday - Friday from 10am - 5pm; Saturday 10am - 3pm. An Opening Reception will be held on January 18th from 5:30 - 7:30 pm. The exhibit is free and open to the public.
