Opinion: Wilson's Whirligig Park

Questioning the Whirligig Park

Just think, every winter it seems city residents have swamped local government meetings seeking help for outrageous utility bills. More of the same this coming winter! Government has no money to help it says.

Well now, we have a great idea being pushed through for Wilson.
Will the city be asked to spend taxpayer money on the Whirligig Park? Also, there is the "unknown" amount of money required to maintain the "art" at taxpayer expense. Some might think this is crazy, but I
personally like the idea. I mean we have to look at the "benefits."

I can envision the charter buses coming in from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Canada, Chicago, Tennessee, etc. on a daily basis. Hotels will be filled to overflowing, restaurants will run out of food. Wilson will be bigger than Nashville, Branson, Dollywood and Vegas.

I hope the city leaders will remember to provide a few extra acres in downtown for the Tour Bus Parking. What a wonderful project! Isn't it great to have such leaders with vision?
