All-American Basketball League Alliance

There's an organization that wants to bring a summer league basketball team to our city for our youth. So what's so bad about that you say - Keep reading and you'll see...To be foretold is to be forewarned.
All-American Basketball Alliance wants to start a new basketball league. Here is a list of the cities they are
Targeting: Pat Dunn (Mayor of Greeneville, NC), Willie Adams, Jr. (Mayor of Albany, GA) and Kasim Reed (Mayor of Atlanta, GA), see more...Bruce Rose (Mayor of Wilson, NC), Thomas D. Peeples (Mayor of Hilton Head, SC), John Peyton (Mayor of Jacksonville, FL), John Rhodes (Mayor of Mytle Beach, SC), Rudy Wright (Mayor of Hickory, NC), Jane Myron (Mayor of Johnson City, TN), Pat Dunn (Mayor of Greeneville, NC), Willie Adams, Jr. (Mayor of Albany, GA) and Kasim Reed (Mayor of Atlanta, GA)

A basketball league exclusively for “natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race” is trying to launch in twelve cities across the south this summer. This is an extreme example of racism and intolerance and we have to stop it now.

The mayor of Augusta, GA, Deke Copenhaver, one of the cities in which the league wants to operate, has already said that he opposes having a team in his city. We’ve been able to track down nine more cities where the “All-American Basketball Alliance” is trying to start new teams for its misguided and offensive league. None of these cities should host the new explicitly racist and anti-immigrant league. You can help stop the league in its tracks by using the form below to send a letter to the mayors of all nine targeted cities asking them to oppose the all-white league.

If we can get the mayors to take a stand against the league right now we might be able to keep it from even getting off the ground.

Here's A Copy of Stand Up to Racism in Your City

Greetings,
You may have heard that there is a new “all-white” professional basketball league trying to get started in cities across the south. I’m writing today because your city is one of twelve where the “All-American Basketball Alliance” is trying to place a team that would require all players to be “natural born United States citizens with both parents of Caucasian race.”

This league is racist, offensive, and should not be welcome in your community. The mayor of Augusta, GA has already said he opposes hosting a team in his city. Today I hope you will join him in making a public statement opposing the league placing a team in your city. Change.org is organizing a list of all mayors who are willing to stand up to the racist league. I hope you will join mayors across the region by emailing robin@change.org and declaring your opposition to intolerance and racism in your community.
