Councilman's Curt Comments

Not so very long ago one of the city council members referenced citizens as “angry people.” He also called their grievances “stupid comments.” Sentiments may have subsided in the community, but the comments are not forgotten.

In a recent council meeting, the same councilman hurled another round of inappropriate comments towards a citizen who stood before them voicing his opinion. The flippant comment made by the councilman was as before out of order. Rather he agreed or disagreed. It was not the councilman’s place, to put the citizen in his place as he thought.

The audience quickly let the speaker know they strongly disagreed with his comment. A reaction on the councilman’s part to blurt out the way he did was inappropriate. Making comments about citizens behind closed doors is one thing but the effort to publicly ridicule or embarrass a citizen in council chambers in a meeting is repulsively insulting.

Perhaps the councilman’s quick to the draw comment would have held more merit if citizens really thought he was actually defending them. But he wasn’t. He consistently votes against issues that concern the east side of town. That speaks volumes. That performance was for his own benefit. Not the people. We hear he wants to be the mayor someday. Do WE, the People really want to be represented by this man? Something to think before the next elections.

someone made the comment why dont you just get over it or forget about it. ill get over it when the arrogant , little twit is defeated at the polls or when he comes down off his high horse long enough to apologize for his asinine , uncalled for behavior and remarks. if he doesn't have the patience ability to hold his offending tongue , he needs to resign from council which as much of a jerk as he is he should do anyway.
