South District Lt. Turns Chief of Police

It is with GREAT sadness and joy that we extend our congratulations to OUR, Lt. Thomas Hopkins, Commander of the South District and the City of Wilson's newly chosen Chief of Police. He is “just” the individual the City needs to continue the service of excellence the Wilson Police Department has come to know.

Thomas Hopkins is diligent in service and the community. He is fair, firm and approachable. As a law enforcement officer, he is dedicated, committed, knowledgeable, experienced and effective. The South District Neighborhood Associations and residents of the community will miss his presence. It’s gonna be a little tough getting used to sharing him with the entire city now. It’s good to know he hasn’t gone very far away. He has been a “positive presence” in the South District and we admire him so much. Whatever Chief Hopkins needs the South District Neighborhood Associations Alliance is still here to support him.              CONGRATULATIONS!
