the king of poltical patronage himself. he was the absolute master at it and his proteges and their followers stewnch still continue to permeate state government even today ranking NC as the most corrupt state in the country from city halls to the governors mansion.
What the hell is political patronage? Can somebody explain what that is exactly?
I thought Governor Hunt gave a great rally speech. It is very important to remember what our President has done to keep this country from a terrible recession. We have great Democratic candidates and need to support them. As the polls here in Wilson County have shown, we are getting out the vote. Let us continue to support our candidates including Calvin Woodard for Sheriff. Thanks Governor Hunt for this great rallying speech, let us all hit the streets running and get out the vote.
Political patronage is the support, encouragement, privilege, or financial aid that an organization or individual bestows to another. I hope this answers your question.
I agree Jim Hunt gave a resounding rally cry saturday morning. As a matter of fact all the speakers were charged up. They really pumped up the crowd on hand. We're all fired up and ready to go. vote.
Sounds like somebody has a beef with Hunt. Sounds like a personal problem. Jim Hunt talked about Democratic issues and encouraged Democratic voters to vote for those who shared the voters democratic views. He wasn't talking to Republicans. He wasn't talking to the Unaffiliated. He was talking to Democrats. And those undecided if any were there. What he's done or has done had nothing to do with the breakfast rally. Darryl Barber, Anonymous #2 wants folks to think that every single democratic is corrupt.And voices his derogatory rhetoric everywhere he goes he's always criticizing the party. We got that you really don't care for either party and that you are an unaffiliated - over and over and over again. Why don't you give it a break already...fight a fight worth fighting for a change...let us help you with hint. All that mouth you got about Hunt, his stench and his cronies...send of that towards the Wilson City Council members and the County Commissioners - they're in office. They're the ones you need to hurling your voice at...when was the last time you were at a city council meeting or commissioners meeting giving them a piece of your mind. Or is it you can only do that behind the screen name of anonymous on some comment section. You call Hunt the King of political patronage...you appear to be the reigining King of Mouth Almighty.
Voting for a candidate based on his/her political party instead of qualifications is mindless voting. I certainly hope there are more independent thinkers out there and that the majority of voters aren't casting their votes for the wrong reasons.
