The Controversial Commissioner - Bobbie Jones

Bobbie Jones. No, not that one we see on Sunday mornings on BET's - Bobby Jones Gospel. The County Commissioner, Bobbie Jones who recently told the Times she's through re-hashing the same old rhetoric concerning the salaries Gay and Williford received.

Recently, in an article in the local newspaper, longtime Democratic Commissioner Bobbie Jones, on the subject of the county pay hikes said the matter was an old topic and she wants to move forward. She's quoted as saying, "We've already gone over this before." "It's been discussed in the paper; my comments have already been in the paper, and they haven't changed. Read the other article written."

WOW! Brazen. Bold & Bodacious. That's Bobbie Jones. Guess she told her constiuents exactly what they could do with that vote they gave her back in November. So, constituents.... how that taste in your mouth right about now? Do you hate you voted for her? Just wondering.

Appears Commissioner Bobbie Jones' comments and her derogatory tone didn't sit well with citizens. Here's what some folks had to say about what she said.

CITIZENS' COMMENTS:

"I bet she does want to put all this unpleasantness behind her. she is one who needs replacing very badly on the board. lucas and tim williford did not vote for the amendment when it was ramrodded thru by the democratic majority."

"This is business as usual for Bobbie Jones, she's looking out for those select few like Wayne Gay. She is more concerned about the democratic party than the overall well being of the citizens of this county. Just like her husband who circulated a letter in the community during the primary election chastising Calvin Woodard because some of his committee members were once registered republicans. This is not about being a democrat, unafilliated or a republican. This is about what is right and wrong. These closed door, back room meetings have to stop."

"I hope that everyone that resides in Mrs. Bobbie Jones district reads her comments and takes them to heart. This is not a woman who is looking out for the citizens of Wilson County. She needs to be VOTED out of her seat as soon as you get the chance. I am sure she does want it to be a closed issue because if she had any moral values at all, she doesn't want to keep being reminded that she was involved in something so wrong! Come on people, these idiots are sitting up there making choices that are costing you money! Money that none of us have a lot of! We pay more in electricity cost than anyone around us and our un-employment rate is nothing to be proud of. All the while Commissioners like Bobbie Jones are sitting up there voting for 5 figure raises for someone that has not done ANYTHING for the County Employees since he's been here. As for you, Mrs. Jones, if you think it should be a dead issue, then maybe it's time to pack your bags and resign your seat? "

"Bobbie Jones, seems to be very dismissive and combative and defensive about the whole ugly mess. she needs to understand she is elected by the citizen taxpayers of her district . it appears to be no big deal and acts like she is above being bothered or questioned about it like Ellis Williford does. she is one who needs to retire or be retired from the commission ASAP. these arrogant idiots need to understand they work for the taxpayers not the other way around. if they dont understand this they should tender their resignations and be replaced with citizen representatives who do understand. she along with the big four on city council up for reelection this year are poster children for term limits."

Is this woman related to Frank Jones the man who had Wayne Gay's sign on his property in the Black community during the primary election who thought he could deliver the black vote to Gay? Is this his wife talking like that?
