ps... Thank you!!!

NEW NC Jobs Mission Statement:

New NC Jobs is a non-profit, community-based organization created for a single purpose: to help create jobs in Nash, Wilson and Edgecombe Counties.

We need jobs now. And this region clearly needs an organization to fight for good jobs. We believe the time is right for a group to work for the people who need jobs – not a government entity campaigning against good jobs as the City of Wilson is doing.

Funded entirely by the private sector – we are not using your tax dollars – NEW NC Jobs has been created by concerned business leaders who recognize the essential need to pursue opportunities and to encourage our communities to work together to improve economic opportunities for everyone.

With the regional unemployment rate at 12.23 percent, it’s time for leaders to unite behind a single mission: Identifying quality businesses and recruiting them to our region.

That is our promise from NEW NC Jobs to the people of Nash, Edgecombe and Wilson Counties.
We need your help. Please click here to find out more about how you can help.

My name is William Darden, Iam a community activist and I ran for city Copuncilman of the 7th District in 2009 because of the high urility rates of Wilson and because of the outcry of its poorer citizens.I have dedicated my life to helping the poor. I have spoken at many events where the concerns of the citzens were issues to address. I spoke of the critical need of jobs in Wilson and how that under this present administration jobs have been leaving like rats off a sinking ship! However this admin has put the intrest of the few wealthy above the needs of Thousands of poor and seek to hide the fact by disguising the the issue as a concern about the safety of the water which is a total FARCE!! JOBS are the number 1 issue in America and is is Chicken Brained and downright idiotic, to spend 1 million dollars fighting against 1000 jobs which the citizens of our area need espescially Wilson who has an un employment rate at nearly 14%,and the City workers have not been given raises for 2 years, but the County Commissioner has increased his salary, that 1 millon could have been used to help the poor pay for Excessively high electric bills. They have fooled the people into beleiving the "Chicken Little Theory" that the sky is falling and all our water will be polluted. Its a lie! The sky is not falling and our water will be Protected!! As I said before its just a cover-up for 32-37 wealthy families that have lavish estates nearby (within in several miles ) and they do not want the Sanderson Chicken plant ruining there vistas. It is time for this Administration to be replaced with a Mayor & council members who will place the needs of its citezens 1st

What a bunch of garbage!! Literally speaking! Clean water is far more valuable than short-term jobs. It's not about "ruining there [sic] vistas." Clean water is essential for life. I am not wealthy and do not have a lavish estate anywhere, but I do want clean water to drink for our future. There are already jobs available in Wilson for those who want to work. The problem is the generations of people who have grown up with government assistance and don't want to get off their front porches and get jobs. People who want to work DO work!!

What a crock-o-crap!!! Spoken from an affluent know-it-all who has no empathy to the plight the poor. Believe it or not EVERYBODY WHO DOESN'T HAVE A JOB ISN'T NECESSARILY SITTING ON THEIR FRONT PORCHES LOOKING FOR A HANDOUT OR A GOVERNMENT CHECK AS YOU PRESCRIBE. HOWEVER THAT IS THE MENTAL STIGMA SOME FOLKS IN THIS COMMUNITY CONNECT WITH THOSE LESS FORTUNATE THAN THEMSELVES. WE'LL ALSO MAKE A NOTE MOST FOLKS WHO MOUTH OFF IN SUCH A MANNER USUALLY DO IT UNDER THE GUISE OF ANONYMOUS SUCH AS YOURSELF. AND STUDIES HAVE SHOWN THESE FOLKS ARE USUALLY WHITE WITH IDIOTIC THINKING ABOUT FOLKS NOT OF THEIR OWN RACE. ANY MAN THAT CAN TELL YOU HE'D PREFERS WATER OVER PEOPLE IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE MIX BETWEEN AN IDIOT AND FOOL.

On Sundays usually you'll get folks who stumble upon our blog who are negative entities who bring forth negative energies. Why? For the hell of it. Wilson is a place of racial divide, financial divide, corrupt politicians and ignorant elected officials. You know it and I know it. Money is the root and greed is the culprit. Most of these folks truly believe that once the breath of life is gone you no longer exist. There are those who believe there is a God and your spirit will always exist - somewhere. Blessed assurance that the evil intent and the wicked ways of Wilson will find its way back to the evil doers. For all they've done. For all they do. For the treatment of those lest than themselves. May those coals be heaved upon their heads. And for every single clergy of this community who decided to get in bed and sleep with the enemy your days of accountability are not longer while God tarries you better hurry to clean up your act and do the right thing for the less fortunate in this city. You see the corrupt way they do business in this place yet you say nothing to influence a different outcome for the majority of the community. Your hands are in the peoples pockets too. And you know this. Your deeds will not go unpunished either. Just some food for thought. Man cannot live by bread alone it reads - neither by water. They need something of substance. Sanderson Farms would help bring that substance to this community to help stablize a region distressed economically. Be ye not deceived by a fool - the numbers locally, statewide and nationally show this region needs jobs. Water is plentiful. Man wants to manipulate and monopolize where they wanna look for it. Truth will prevail. God will help His people if they pray. He helped Calvin Woodard didn't He!

Recently James Johnson said you have never heard a council representative say they were not for the jobs. Well to be against the project is to be against the jobs. You're either for or against. The City of Wilson has made their decison loud and clear from the beginning. What the citizens have heard a councilman say is the City of Wilson does not have jurisdiction over Nash county and cannot tell them what to do. In the same statement he also said those jobs were needed and would help those in this community. So there is at least one councilman that gets it. He has not lost his focus to serve the people first and not himself.

Jobs versus clean water...that's a no-brainer. There are jobs available in Wilson for people who want to work. In the newspaper, there were notices that McDonald's and Western Sizzlin' were hiring wait staff--jobs that require no higher education. A new store called "Five Below" has a sign saying it is hiring. We don't need a chicken plant to create jobs...they are already here. This is just one more opportunity for the racist hot-heads to mouth off about this chicken plant issue being racially motivated.

the basic necessities to survive vs another idiotic who can't do the math. And refrence to the no-brainer is absolutely correct.

What, did I miss the news? Are they doing away with government entitlements? Will all the welfare recipients finally have to go out and get a job? Will young girls stop having babies to get another check? My dreams have come true!!

Black, white, red, or yellow, people who are affluent WORKED for their money! Do all of you who are using words like "idiot," "fool," and "imbecile" think that those words make you intelligent? Name-calling is for lower-intelligence people who don't have the vocabulary to think of better adjectives to describe people with whom they disagree!

Anonymous said...

ALOT OF AFLUENT PEOPLE DID NOT WORK FOR THEIR MONEY. IN FACT MOST OF THEM INHERITED IT OFF THE SWEAT AND BLOOD OF POOR PEOPLE.

Anonymous said...

its not name calling when you call an idiot and idiot or an embicile an embicile. we will stop telling the truth about people like you when you stop telling lies about people like us.

Anonymous said...

The word is "imbecile," imbecile!

Just rode by Four Corners Pizza and saw a sign saying, "Now hiring." Jobs are there if you want to work. No experience necessary. Maybe passing a drug test is the holdup? IDK.

There's been much drum-beating about career organizing. But what is the reality?
