Its way past time to restore some integrity back in the WCSD. Wayne has served us well in the past but he has fell into the trap of cronyism, favoritism and special interest as so many prominent democratic politicians have. He has benefited financially from his office and the business interest derived from his office. Robin Pridgens malfeasance was a pittance compared to Wayne's financial gain from his office. all of which is considered legal , i guess or at least semi-legal as far as i know. Calvin is a young visionary with a plan to restore honor and integrity back in the office. Elect Calvin Woodard Wilson County Sheriff and end the Good Ole Boy network in the WCSD

Had the opportunity to meet Mr. Woodard a few months ago don't think I knew then he was thinking about running. He's a nice fellow very knowledgeable about law enforcement. He brings experience and education for a "right now" moment in time updating us from almost 30 years ago to 2010. Seasons change, people change and now it's time for Wilson to make a change. 30 years in office by one man is 30 years too many.

My cousin Lacy Pittman just retired from the SBI. He was one of Calvin's Instructors at the academy and somewhat of a mentor. He was very impressed with Calvin as a person and as a top notch New Generation Law Enforcement Officer with all the up to date training and the professionalism and leadership qualities to lead out Sheriffs Dept into the Twenty First Century . I have met Calvin on several occasions and he seems to be the genuine article. A man who will bring Honor, Integrity and fairness to all the citizens of Wilson County regardless of Race, Wealth or Social Standing.I urge your support for this godly , family man who we desperately need during these troubling times to return the sacred trust of the office back to the people of Wilson county

It is a time for a change. When someone is in a psoition for 28 years they tend to think it is "their" right to be there. When you know of something within your department that happens that is wrong, and you do nothing about it, then it is time for a change. We read in the paper all the time where other people in law enforcement are held accountable for their actions. But in the WCSD you can do what you want, with whom you want, even when you are supposed to be on duty, and guess what..if you are one of the good ol boys, nothing happens.....I really hope Mr Woodard takes the time to look into who he will have working there, and really look into their record. We have people working in the WCSD, that if these things had occured, they would have been fired. But again the "good ol boys" seem to be able to do anyhting they wish and nothing is said or done. An article in the paper Saturday, an officer in the Wilson Police Dept, made the comment, he was a good officer, but we must all be held accountable for our actions. Too bad this doesnt apply to WCSD.

In reference to the previous comments, I don't think all the members of the Department are bad. There are lot of good dedicated men and women who do try and do the job as it should be. However there are a few indiiduals who seem to not be held accountable for their actions. We hope when Woodard takes over he will make sure people are held accountable for their actions. How can the public have respect for the Department if we are held accountable for our actions and members of the Department are not? Maybe things will change. A new man at the top is what we need. But before he cleans up the county, he might want to look closer in house. Dont crucify the whole Department because of the actions of some. The higher ups in the department who turn a blind eyes to someones actions that violate Department policy and procedures are as guilty as those who actually do the deed. I hope the policy of sweeping things under the rug will end soon.
