That's Despicable - Part I

Not long ago a Wilson citizen came before council to talk about what the council could do to help citizens find a better way to communicate with them ....Ahhh.... After recent comments and the reaction of council members yelling, challenging and mocking citizens - council needs a few lessons in ethics and anger management because your behavoir is DESPICABLE !
In 2009 the North Carolina General Assembly passed legislation that requires local governing boards to adopt a code of ethics and requires board members to receive ethics training.

The School of Government is offering a webinar as an easy way for elected officials to fulfill the legal requirement for 2 clock hours of ethics training by January 1, 2011. The webinar is a live, interactive 2-hour seminar that will allow you to listen to the presenters, view the session presentation online and ask questions. All you need is a computer with Internet access.

Registration fee: $95. Elected officials are encouraged to view this webinar with their board or with other boards from their county or region. Groups of participants may gather in one location to view the webinar together; however, one individual from each HOST site must register. If participants have been invited to attend the webinar at a host location, the participants do not have to register, or pay. Only the site who is hosting the event will pay the $95 fee.

AND IN THE EVENT YOU MISS THE DEADLINE ON WEDNESDAY CITY COUNCIL
Don’t worry. The webinar will be archived and can be accessed at any time and at your convenience after March 26. The fee for viewing the archived session is also $95. Your board will have 30 days from the date you purchase the archive in which to view the session. If board members want to view the archive independently, all they need is the access link from you and then to view the presentation within 30 days of the original purchase.

AND ONE MORE THING BEFORE YOU GO . . .The law requires the clerk to the governing board to maintain a record verifying receipt of the ethics education by each board member.

Citizens' Challenge > call your district representative and remind them of their civic duty to participate in the state ethics training requirement by January 1, 2011.

everyone of them with the exception of MR PITT and LILES is in bad need of it. MR Pitt is just back on board and it is too early to tell about Mr Liles. Logan so far, so good. You dont have to be an arrogant jerk to be on council and dont let the big money backers who put you there lead you around like a puppet. you owe them nothing but fair and honest government to the best of your ability.
