A famous quote exclaimed by Jack Nicholson from the movie "A Few Good Men." Some Can. Some Don't. Some Will. Some Won't. If you know you have issues dealing with the truth this blog post is not for you.
Far too often, Folks in this town complain about this and that when it comes to local governmental issues. Complaining is a lazy man's attempt at making an effort to change a situation... By Running his Mouth! It goes along with the adage " Talk is cheap." But, Let us cut to the chase... If you're a person who votes and you usually vote as a Democrat the meeting scheduled on tomorrow has your name written all over it.
With all the confusing chaos and the deliberate defiant disposition of Chris Boykin, ex chair of the local chapter to hold the seat for as long as he could to gain info to share with the challenger and not the nominee... you ought to be disgusted about the process. Ah, you don't that to be true you say. NO, you don't...
And you ought to be disgusted that other local Dem leaders allowed him to go as long as he did and never said a word. Well somebody finally said something. SOME THREE MONTHS DOWN THE ROAD!
NO, NOT ONE.. Not the 1st chair, Not the 2nd chair nor the 3rd chair had the decency to step foward and address the local chair of just how out of order he was. And collectively, they never did a damn thing about it. And never said a mumbling word to the citizens of this county.
And you ought to be disgusted that out of 24 precincts in this county there are only SIX count em 1-2-3-4-5-6 that are what they call "organized" precincts. And only these six precincts have the right and opportunity to vote for a new chair for this local party come Saturday.
Dear Fellow Wilsonians - WE, The People are really tired of folks playing us for fools. Making decisions for us as if we are too dumb or ignorant or both to make educated and informed decisions that directly affect our quality of life in this community.
We're tired of the same old local officials of whom we've trusted for years to do the right thing and do right by all citizens of this county acting as if WE, The People don't exist and what we want, need and desire is not their agenda or priority.
OH, BUT WAIT until its ELECTION TIME... You'll hear comments like, OH, We're gonna do what the people want... if you watch the latest City Council meeting be sure to listen out for that one. You can't miss that one coming from someone who claims he didn't even know what was going on in the local Dem party concerning Chris Boykin. Damn, man give us a break already.
So that's a serious reflection on what? Your lack of knowing what's going on within your community and a clear indication you're definitely out of touch with your constituents. So then the question would be - WHY DO WE NEED YOU SERVING ON ANYTHING REPRESENTING US? It appears it's more about serving yourself than serving the people.
You see, This is the kind of "crock o' crap", WE, THE PEOPLE OUGHT TO BE TIRED OF!
NO, We're not speaking for all the people.
NO, We're not speaking on your behalf. You ought to think enough about yourself to do that for yourself.
We are speaking for those who want to say what we're saying but for whatever the reason are not bold enough to do it. Pray for courage. We are speaking what a lot of folks are thinking but lack confidence is sharing - out loud. Lest, they be shamed by being called one who is trying to "start something." Start what exactly? A community conversation about the pundits of this city and those who wish to protect the status quo?
We are speaking for those who just don't give a flip because they truly are ignorant or 'ignant" which ever you prefer to the fact that if they don't stand for something they'll fall for anything. And right now, they're blind and they don't see what they will see a little ways down the road when they awaken and realize why they are forced to fight a battle that was already fought... back in the day. When they failed to participate.
Well, D'uh, if you take the time to do your part NOW... And address the issues NOW, and acknowledge injustice and unfair ethical practices NOW, and confront those who live to initiate such programs, procedures and community affairs NOW... your kids and your grand kids may not have to later in life. At least not to such a degree as we're facing now.
Fighting for justice and equal distribution of resources and the right to partake in the process of local politics and affairs ... remains a struggle in this city. WHY? Lack of participation? Lack of involvement? Apathy on the people's part? There's enough...excuses to go around. Yeah, that's something to think about.
Wilson, NC needs new leadership. Wilson, NC needs an "Awakening in Wide Awake Wilson."
We need our voices to be heard STRONG, LOUD and very CLEAR...
WILSON IS NOT A SPARTA, MISSISSIPPI and THE CITIZENS ARE NOT THE CHARACTERS LIKE THOSE in THE HEAT Of THE NIGHT. AND WILSON & WILSONIANS NEED TO STOP ACTING LIKE IT ... THE 1960'S ...do the math...LONG GONE!
BECOME ACTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THE PROCESS NOW ... SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE LED BY FOOLS WHO REALLY DON'T GIVE A DAMN ABOUT WHAT YOU THINK OR WHAT YOU WANT - DON'T KEEP VOTING FOR THESE FOLKS !!! THEY'RE IDIOTS. DON'T YOU BE ONE TOO! GET STARTED on SATURDAY - SEE YOU AT THE MEETING!

Personally, I am shocked at the state of the Wilson County Democratic Party. It is time for the Democratic voters of Wilson County to wake up and get involved. If the former leader of the Wilson County Democratic Party, Chris Boykin, is treating his position at the Sheriffs Office like he treated his position with the Wilson County Democratic Party, we are being cheated by paying him anything at all. Is this just another example of what is going on at the Sheriffs Department? A man is known by his works and deeds. If Mr. Boykin was so disorganized that he could not even get all 24 precincts in order, he should have asked for help or stepped down. And like you have said, hello, what were the other committee members doing? Why has the committee turned a blind eye to the obvious disorganization and complete disregard for the procedures that should have been in place. There are many qualified people in Wilson County who would have been proud to have taken that position. There are many who do care and we will be gathering tomorrow afternoon to let this county know that we are interested in a better Wilson County and a better Wilson County Democratic Party. Thank you for your frank and honest appraisal of this current situation. I think that the Sheriffs Race has been a very enlightening for all Wilsonians. I will be there tomorrow and will spend the rest of this day calling and emailing people and encouraging all Wilson County Democrats to attend this important meeting. Change begins with me. Thanks again Wilsonian Voices for telling it like it is.
