Citizens' Comments - William Biddle

Debt reduction commission just a Ponzi scheme. I hope every American can see through the crap that is being thrown out by the Obama Administration. At every turn in the road we are getting legislation pushed down our throats that we don't want, creating massive debt, that will lead to taxes increases the likes of which we have never seen before. Why do I say this? Remember, mark this day on your calendar. Obama has just appointed a commission to reduce the deficit. This is nothing more than another Ponzi scheme.

Let me ask you a question, If Obama was so interested in reducing the deficit why didn't he build a budget that reflected a reduction in spending? The Democrats have had a super majority in both Senate and House and yet no legislation to reduce spending to help offset the deficit. Just the opposite happened -- the largest increase in spending in United States history. It is certain that the commission will propose a new tax to offset the spending increases, either a Value Added Tax or a national sales tax, this will increase the cost of everything we buy, along with income tax increases for all taxpayers when the Bush tax cuts expire.

Obama campaigned on reducing taxes for the middle class -- you remember "not one dime in new taxes" -- and now he says all options are on the table. A tax increase can now be blamed on the deficit reduction commission and spending on stimulus money to keep the country out of a depression. Do these jerks in Washington expect us to believe this bull?

Here is where some of your stimulus money was wasted just in North Carolina.
North Carolina Dance Theater: $50,000
Reducing hot flashes with yoga: $147,000
Collecting, research and reporting on the spending of stimulus money: $492,000
And this is my favorite, Study of monkeys using cocaine: $71,000
Can't blame this abuse of power and money on Wall Street.

We need a change in Washington, and when November elections roll around I hope you remember Congressman Butterfield, Sen. Hagan and Congressman Etheridge who voted for this waste of money.
We all know who the monkeys will be voting for.
