Here's The Definition of a 360

Recently, while browsing through a blogsite in Rocky Mount, The Political Agitator, we came across the following response to our blogpost called Implication. Intimidation. Inaccurate Information. The response was written by  F. Stan Jones and it referenced the mis-information Wayne Gay planted and initiated concerning the Black community during the primary election. Seems Mr. F Stan Jones responded over in Rocky Mount but failed to check in over here in Wilson. Nonetheless, it crossed our path and we're gonna share what he had to say. OK...here's an update you can also view this piece in the Wilson Times as a letter to the editor called "Frustrated with Gay's Leasdership."

F. Stan Jones said:

I know very little about Mr. Woodard or for that matter neither do I know Mr Gay that well. There are some really good people in the Sheriff’s Department and there are some that should find another trade. I know most of the law enforcement in Wilson is affiliated with the masons, including Mr. Woodard, and my own faith doesn’t allow me to donate to such.

But over the past five to six years, my son’s motorcycle was stolen, his car was vandalized, his home and shop was broken into, his dog was stolen, and someone dumped about two dozen tractor trailor tires in his yard as if to prepare to torch his home. Each of these things were separate incidences on separate occasions and never did there seem to be any real attempt by Mr. Gay’s department to find out who was doing this. My son was stalked and a name was given.
Now, nine months after his death, my son’s final words were that someone sideswiped his bike, breaking both legs. He told this to the trooper, again to the EMS folks, and to his mother at Pitt. The Captain that I later spoke with seemed very professional, polite, and concerned and I do believe he’s now on this case.

However, my frustration with the Gay leadership, is that I believe very much in the affirmative that my son would be alive today if attention to detail had been given this situation.

It’s usually who you are in this county that seems to matter most. So, there will be no tears for me that someone else will be given a chance to enforce our laws.

However, so far all I’m hearing from the winning side is the focus that is now going to be given to the east side of Wilson and there sounds like a lot of vindictiveness here.

So our family will likely still feel ignored and just as suspicious of this new sheriff, should he win the general.

Definition: 360 degree; adj; an example of a 360. His statement indicated a 360-degree change in his viewpoint. From sympathy to suspicion.

…As stated in the comment section of the Wilson Times…Mr. F Stan Jones shouldn’t be spreading rumors and lies in his statement concerning Mr. Woodard or east Wilson. His comments such as ‘However, so far all I’m hearing from the winning side is that the focus now is going to be given to the east side of Wilson, and there sounds like a lot of vindictiveness here.” Unfounded statements. Woodard is not even in the position yet nor has he announced such a focus as Mr. Jones has described. And as far as the comments “So our family will likely still feel ignored and just as suspicious of this new sheriff, should he win the general” are underlined with the stereotypical rhetoric of ole southern boys who have been left behind by a system he figures should have included you. The current sheriff’s office ignored your family. The current sheriff’s office may have contributed to the demise of what happened to your son, yet you have the audacity to ridicule the sheriff-elect and criticize him for what exactly we’re not sure. Your redneck views of African Americans is typical thinking of po’ white individuals who don’t know no better. So we’re gonna help you. What a rude overstatement you’ve made from the loss of your son to a suspicious mind concerning the new sheriff. Your comments were uncalled for and unnecessary in the same breath. And while your loss was tragic it does not allow nor gives you the right Mr. F Stan Jones to insinuate negative images towards the new sheriff and insult the east Wilson community. We’ve had enough of racist white folks talking loud saying nothing thinking you can continue getting away with that shi’diggity. And by the way, you and your family’s feelings of being ignored sounds like a personal problem you need to deal with not a community concern. Be at peace Mr.Jones. You and your family need it
