Saturday - Amtrak will celebrate National Train Day by holding open houses at stations including the ones in Wilson, Rocky Mount and Selma. The open house at Wilson's station, located at 401 E. Nash St., will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To help celebrate the start of the new mid-day service, discounted fares of up to 40 percent for travel on the Piedmont between Raleigh and Charlotte and all intermediate stops are on sale now through June 30 at each North Carolina station, except Cary, and online at Amtrak.com. Passengers must travel on or before June 30.
